Week of Mar 2 - Mar 8, 2026

150 posts across 7 communities · updated March 7, 2026

Two separate stories dominated the collector communities this week and they pull in opposite directions. UHD Blu-ray grew in 2025 and physical media is genuinely holding its ground against streaming. But the same week everyone's celebrating, the most common complaint is that decent 4K players now cost $250 because of tariffs.

One Thing to Watch

J-cards are apparently a civil war. Half the steelbook community throws them out immediately. The other half keeps them in acrylic protectors.

Deals

Gruv March Madness 3 for $39 USD is live but the community clocked immediately that they usually do 3 for $30 or $33 USD. So this isn't the sale of the year. Worth it for newer releases that haven't hit deeper discounts yet. The John Wick 1-3 stash book at $49.96 USD (Walmart) is the more interesting pickup if you're missing those. Disney+ steelbooks are on sale too, first comment was 'Damn. No Andor.'

Most Debated high comment-to-upvote ratio

The boutique wishlist thread asking what people want in 2026 is 119 comments of titles without a proper release. Wild Bunch on 4K came up multiple times. Christopher Guest films. Cape Fear. These are the gaps the community is actually sitting with. Better reading than most release calendars.
