S-Tier Shout Factory 4K. Schwarzenegger vs. the Devil at Y2K. Shout Factory picking up 90s action catalog.

A-Tier Sony Pictures 4K. Coppola's Dracula with Gary Oldman. A small horror collection staple.
Sony Pictures · 4K + Blu-ray
S-Tier 20th Century Studios 4K. McTiernan's sci-fi action classic. The 4-movie pack from Amazon came in a DVD case for some reason, which confused everyone. The Prey steelbook from Best Buy was a big deal since Disney rarely puts streaming-only films on disc. Collectors are building Predator steelbook shelves across all five films.

A-Tier StudioCanal 4K. Arnold's underrated 1986 action film. The StudioCanal steelbook is nice-looking, and people keep asking for Commando, a T2 remaster, and more Arnold on 4K. The previous StudioCanal Blu-ray looked bad, so the 4K is a real step up.

The StudioCanal steelbook has great embossing and showed up in European sales for around 15 EUR. Region B locked on the Blu-ray side, which annoyed a few Region A collectors who wanted the full package. Purely a fun 80s action night pick.

Warner 40th Anniversary 4K with Dolby Vision and Atmos, scanned from the original negative. Collectors are split on the AI enhancement tools Cameron used in the transfer, with some calling it a revelation and others wanting the grain back. The mono track is worth trying after the Atmos mix.

Construction worker Douglas Quaid's obsession with the planet Mars leads him to visit Recall, a company that manufactures memories. When his memory implant goes wrong, Doug can no longer be sure what is and isn't reality.
Eagle Pictures · 4K + Blu-ray

C-Tier Kino Lorber 4K. There's a running joke that this should be Criterion spine #1000, and the fan-made mock cover art is reportedly better than anything Criterion has actually produced. Kino put out the 4K in 2024.
Kino Lorber · 4K + Blu-ray
Arrow's 4K fixes the teal push that plagued the StudioCanal version. Color comparisons on blu-ray.com forums show a clear difference, though opinions split roughly 50/50 on whether Arrow's slightly darker grade is better or just different. C-Tier is fair for the film itself, but the Arrow disc is at least the right version to own.
dir. Patrick Hughes
Lionsgate 4K, the third in the Best Buy steelbook trilogy. Patrick Hughes directed. This one went PG-13 and the collector sentiment was less enthusiastic than the first two, though the steelbook matches the set.
D-Tier Lionsgate 4K and a famously bad transfer. The steelbook artwork is great and sells well, but the disc inside is one of the worst 4K presentations of a major film. People buy the steelbook planning to swap the disc if a better version ever comes out.
Lionsgate · Blu-ray
D-Tier 4K that caused a lot of frustration. Someone sold theirs for a dollar and the photo went kind of viral. A comparison with a Spanish Blu-ray showed the bootleg had more skin texture in several shots. There are defenders, but the consensus leans negative.

30th anniversary 4K steelbook pre-order is live on Gruv at $33 USD. The comments are not about the film at all, they're about the steel and the price. The anniversary hook is doing all the work here.
