The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the world’s last remaining Crystal, and the menacing empire of Niflheim is determined to steal it. King Regis of Lucis commands an elite force of soldiers called the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king’s magic, they fight to protect Lucis. As the overwhelming military might of the empire bears down, King Regis is faced with an impossible ultimatum – to marry his son, Prince Noctis to Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae, captive of Niflheim, and surrender his lands to Niflheim rule. Although the king concedes, it becomes clear that the empire will stop at nothing to achieve their devious goals, with only the Kingsglaive standing between them and world domination.

Warner 4K with Dolby Atmos. Snyder's Superman origin film and the start of the DCEU. Part of the Zack Snyder 5-film 4K collection alongside 300, Watchmen, BvS, and the Justice League Snyder Cut. Thin collector discussion as a standalone purchase but it sells as part of the box.

Warner 4K from 2016 that collectors call one of the first truly impressive HDR demo discs. The Jaeger-Kaiju fights at night in the rain are reference material for testing a display's black levels and color volume. The Dolby Atmos mix is equally aggressive. Shot digitally at 5K but capped by a 2K DI.

B-Tier 4K with a Best Buy exclusive steelbook. The color grading dulls some of the period detail and the transfer isn't among the MCU's strongest, but the steelbook has its fans.

When a young boy accidentally triggers the universe's most lethal hunters' return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled scientist can prevent the end of the human race.
dir. James Cameron
C-Tier from 20th Century Studios, which is a sore spot for a film this good. The 4K exists and people buy it, but the conversation is always about when someone will do a proper restoration. Cameron in 4K should look better than this.

Arrow Video's Limited Edition 4K preorder is live at Diabolik DVD, making it the first legitimate English-language release since the old Blu-ray went out of print. The film shares a screenwriter with Blade Runner and has a small cult following built around Kurt Russell's near-silent performance and the production design that carries over from Ridley Scott's world.
