External slim drive, primarily sold in Europe. Used to ship with a Pioneer inside and worked plug-and-play. Now ships with an LG BU40N in all recent stock. Needs a firmware flash before it rips UHD. The flash is fast and easy via MartyGUI on Windows or MakeMKV CLI. Strong community track record once flashed, with hundreds of discs through them without issue. Known risk: some LG BU40N units have caused circular disc scratches. Use a Pioneer for rare or OOP discs.
