Disney is opening the vault again. Alice in Wonderland in 4K, at a normal price, without the limited steelbook nonsense. That alone shifted the mood this week. Criterion flash sale hauls are still flooding every feed, Runaway Train's 4K landed with auto-cleanup artifacts bad enough that people are going back to their Arrow Blu-rays, and Mars Attacks just got a collector's edition from Zavvi UK with US availability as the open question. Player prices keep climbing and Amazon keeps canceling steelbook preorders, but the Disney news and a strong crop of new announcements have people spending instead of complaining.

One Thing to Watch

The Panasonic UB820 is now $800 USD from scalpers and $550 USD at Crutchfield. Finding one at $300 USD used is cause for celebration. The UB450 at $240 USD is what people are actually recommending to new collectors now, because nobody can find the real thing at retail.

The top 3 reference movies thread turned into one of the biggest conversations of the week, with collectors naming their demo discs. Dune, Blade Runner 2049, 2001, Interstellar, and Lawrence of Arabia keep showing up. The Panasonic UB820 thread is full of people sharing their own player hunts.
