Joe Dante then surfaced a 2h 35m assembly cut of the original Gremlins at a closed-group screening on May 1, 2026, with the Gremlins 3 writers in attendance. A reissue of the original paired with a Gremlins 2 4K in a boxset timed to Gremlins 3 (2027) is the most coherent way both archival events fit together. The 2011 Warner Blu-ray is currently the only HD option for Gremlins 2.
