Universal owns all six on 4K, and the 2018 Trilogy Collection is the trap. It's HDR10-only on a muddy older master, and the 2025 Limited Edition Steelbook trilogy is the actual Dolby Vision and Atmos remaster of the originals. The Jurassic World films are sold standalone, and Fallen Kingdom is the only one with reference-grade work behind it, with a DTS:X track and a clean Dolby Vision pass. The 2023 Universal Essentials Collection of the original is the prestige object with rigid slipcase and booklet, though it predates the steelbook remaster so the picture isn't the reason to buy it.

S-Tier Universal 4K. Shot on film with strong cinematography, which makes the 4K disc look great even though the movie itself was pretty widely panned. People keep pointing out that a reference-quality disc doesn't help much if you never want to watch the film again. Gareth Edwards' signature dark, dim visual style is even more pronounced here than in Godzilla 2014.

The 2025 Trilogy Steelbook and the 2026 standalone share a remastered Dolby Vision transfer that fixes the color grading from the 2018 HDR10 disc, with a new Atmos mix that runs heavier than the DTS-X track purists liked. Pick the Trilogy if you also want Lost World and JP3.

The 4K brings out practical effects work that ages better than anything in the World trilogy, and the RV cliff sequence in particular benefits from the HDR pass. Universal's steelbook redesigns felt phoned in, but the disc itself is the reason to own this one.

A-Tier Universal 4K. The weakest Jurassic Park, but Universal's new Dolby Vision remaster actually fixed the color timing issues from the original 4K. The old transfer had a weird tan cast that the new version corrected. There's debate about whether the new Atmos remix is too heavy-handed compared to the original DTS-X mix. The remastered disc was $14.99 USD on Amazon pre-order, which is basically impulse territory.
