One Battle After Another won Best Picture and the top comment was 'Maybe when GRUV actually delivers my steelbook.' Criterion's June slate dropped and the Hairspray announcement is still generating replies. It's the last major Waters title without a proper release, and the conversation moved quickly from relief to lobbying for a box set. Charade is on the same slate and getting less attention than it deserves, a Hepburn/Grant film that has never had a proper 4K release until now. The Stranger Things Arrow boxset is the announcement of the week. Netflix licensing their biggest show to Arrow for a complete physical release surprised everyone, and the pricing debate started immediately. Amazon has the deluxe set at $270 USD and OrbitDVD has it at $189 USD.

One Thing to Watch

HMV opened in Amsterdam and collectors treated it like an event. 'I usually travel to Scotland just to visit HMV.' Outside North America, a physical store that actually stocks catalogue titles has become rare enough to plan a trip around.

Deals (US)

Gruv has two sales running, 3 for $30 USD on 4K catalog titles and 3 for $39 USD on newer releases. An order this week arrived as an empty bubble mailer, three discs missing, weight listed at 1 oz. It keeps happening, so if something arrives wrong, email them immediately and they'll sort it out. The Warner Archive sale starts Monday. On Amazon, the Stir of Echoes steelbook is $24.99 USD, Dogma restocked at 7000 units, and Sunset Boulevard is down to $14.96 USD with a coupon. A Criterion flash sale is rumored for Tuesday March 24, so if you have a gift card or promo code, check the expiry before then. October codes expire April 21, December codes run through June.

The discussion about what other Netflix shows should get a physical release after the Arrow Stranger Things announcement ran long and got specific fast. Dark was the first reply, then Fear Street, Midnight Mass, Train Dreams, Knives Out. People are treating it as a pre-order wishlist and lobbying directly at Arrow. Separately, a post about 4K discs skipping after just a few plays drew a real argument about whether it's the player or the disc. Most replies said player. A few said it's happened consistently across multiple titles on a healthy machine. Worth reading before you blame the disc.
