Unearthed Films' February 2025 Limited Collector's Edition is a new 4K restoration from the 35mm negative, and DoBlu gave the video a 5/5 for sharpness and shadow detail. Malcolm McDowell doing his version of the Chikatilo case through the last days of the Soviet Union is pretty much the whole pitch, and the deliberately cold color palette works with it rather than against it.
