A-Tier Sony 4K. The Holy Grail finally on 4K in August 2025 after years of people waiting. The steelbook announcement got immediate day-one energy. It's bizarre that Meaning of Life was the only Python film on 4K for so long. The $40+ USD steelbook price caused some grumbling, but people bought it anyway.

Criterion got this to 4K after Sony's 2022 plan to upgrade the Monty Python trilogy stalled out. Collectors have been waiting years because the film is hard to find even on standard Blu-ray. The Criterion spine means proper packaging and essay extras, more than any competing release was going to offer.
